Maquoketa Slip Plate
This plate was fired in a 100-hour, anagama woodfire in October 2020. The dark slip on the plate rim is made from clay Tab dug near the Maquoketa Caves.
The variegated surface is created through the Maquoketa slip, generous ash deposits, and the touch of the flame. Made of high-fired stoneware, this piece is durable and lasting.
