Fall Salt Fire Workshop
September 28 - Oct 1, 2023
Beginner - Advanced, 18+
Instructors: Gary Carstens and Tab Link
Learn with us in a group setting as we glaze, load and fire the catenary chamber of our ana noborigama kiln. This workshop is limited to ten participants to maximize your experience and your opportunity to produce an ample body of work. Please bring 50 to 70 bisque fired pieces of various sizes and shapes. It is critical for us to fill this large kiln for better results. Cone 10 clay only. Each participant is limited to no more than 10 bowls, which may be loaded in various positions. We will not fire any plates, large shallow bowls or large flat items. Kiln loading will be managed by instructors of only approved pieces.
Workshop includes a good number of studio glazes, in depth instruction, group problem solving, lodging at the nearby retreat center and meals. We would like for you to participate in a Thursday night group potluck to get to know each other. Please bring a dish for five to ten people.
